We are now well into our second decade of ownership of the cafe - what started out as a mere pipedream became reality and can now be considered an institution! It has been a wonderful experience for Adrian & I - we met in the 1980’s as trainee chefs at High Peak College in Buxton, worked with each other at Smiths then set up Thyme in 2003 on the former premises of ‘Fat Jack’s Chicago Rib Rack’. 

We’ve had some fantastic times along the way, but one thing is for sure, our original idea of offering a welcoming & relaxed environment, with great, hearty food, along with local craft beers & a really strong wine list is still true today - our daily-changing blackboard menus are still the heart of our business and will continue to be so.

We may be biased, but we passionately believe the cafe to be totally unique to the area - very original and the best of the region’s informal and casual dining experiences.

2015 will be a very exciting year for us and the cafe, with continued development and investment to try and enhance our guests’ enjoyment. We will be focusing on all areas to push on while continuing to deliver the Thyme Cafe experience to everyone who walks through the door.
